Commercial Description:
Monster of a beer, shrouded in mystery, brewed once a year. This beer is hopped quadruple-strength, and exoticly spiced.

An unclear brown beer with a small disappearing orange head. The aroma is of licorice, pine, and medicin - quite weird. The flavor is dominated by pine but also contains a lot of hops, which gives it a lovely bitter end. The mouthfeel is soft.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of pepsican. Hazy reddish brown with a rough, off-white head. Fat, sweetish and spicy aroma. Very full-bodied, sticky, sweet and fat with spicy accents. Rather bitter finish. Excentric indeed, but not really great. 201008

12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark amber with a fully diminished head. Mild yeasty and alcohol aroma. Flavour is spiced and slight herbal with a nice caramelish note. Lingering spiced and somewhat acidic. Light yeasty too. Mild acidic and yeasty finish with a dense caramel malty note.

Bottled, thanks hopsrus! Cloudy nut brown. Hoppy earhty green menthe aroma. Very malty and somewhat vinous. Salty and spicy, confusing and complex with a Fisherman's Friend finish. This is what Bell's do best: Ridiculously full bodied experimental beer with bizarre flavours.

Dark brown, some haze. Complex smokey, plummy, figgy nose with turbinado sugars and sweating mirepoix. Crazy palate - again smokey with dark fruit, a splash of alcohol, and intense dark sugars. Soft body and a warming finish. A unique and incredibly flavourful experience.

(7/14/03 -- 2000 Vintage): Murky brown body with small off-white head. Aroma is sweet (molasses), light grapefruit, and ginger. Taste is sweet, rich, caramel, big malty, grapefruit hoppy, vinous, some ginger, barleywinish -- damned fine aged beer. (11/14/02): (2001 Vintage?) Muddy brown body. Aroma of grapefruit and ginger. Flavor is ginger, with some bitterness. Not to be consumed in large quantities. (6/3/5/3/11)
