I bought a six pack at Lucas Liquors in Kansas City last fall and I still have two left, cellaring them. The last one I had was at the end of May and it tasted better than first time. Pours a deep black with almost no head. Flavor is all over the place. Definitely worth trying. GMUcrew7 (376), Mason, Ohio, USA

Wonderful warm roasted aromas of malts, chocolate, dark fruits and molasses. Wow, what a beer, complex array of flavors with an amazingly thick and smooth palate. Roasted chocolate and molasses are predominant flavors with hints of dark fruits, bitter coffee and a tiny bit of alcohol (although amazingly well hidden considering 10.5abv). | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 26, 2008 Tanks daknole! What a fantastic pour. Rich, thick and creamy. Almost the color of well used motor oil and almost as thick. A late forming brown head doesn’t last long and leaves an uneven ring. Aroma is over brewed black tea, molasses, and dark fruit. Not a powerful aroma but very nice. Alcohol can be tasted but the effects aren’t significant.. This is such a complex beer that it is difficult to describe. Sometimes tart hop, sometimes cooked brown sugar, sometimes dark fruit, sometimes alcohol, etc. Throw in coffee, chocolateThe flavors come in waves sometimes small and subtle, others crash in. Amazing. esjaygee (1581), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2008 Brown with a medium brown slowly diminishing head. Aroma of roasted malts, molasses, licorice and mild alcohol. Taste of molasses, chocolate, alcohol, brown sugar and licorice. Finish is mildly bitter with some alcohol mixed in. A solid stout but I think it’s a step down from Kalamazoo & Java stouts. 12many (231), Ohio, USA

This stuff is incredible. Literally comes out of the bottle like syrup, but is just balanced perfectly. Almost no head, and just coffee and chocolate galore. I LOVE BELL’S BEER!! A hardcore stout. Black in color. Coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt for the nose and tongue to enjoy. The flavor contains a slightly bitter finish. The palate is just amazing, thick and syrupy. Top of the line stout.
