Aroma is burnt coffee, roasty coffee, chocolate, and some etoh. Flavor over emphasizes the burnt coffee flavor. A little creamier would have made for a more enjoyable experience. redlight (1509), Winter Park, Florida, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 16, 2008 Pours a very dark brown, nearly black, with just a ring of light brown head. Delicious aroma of roasted black coffee, peat, and chocolate. Taste is true to the smell if a little sweeter at first with the chocolate. The body is then very smooth and the finish really drags out the coffee and heavily roasted malt flavor. tedovertu (264), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA

Burnt roasted aroma of coffee and some molasses/chocolate goodness and a hint of black olive/licorice. Sweet taste with really strong black coffee bitterness. Medium bodied. My type of coffee stout. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 7, 2008 Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours dark dark brown with light brown head. The aroma is coffee, a hint of chocolate mixed with bosco, spicy mustard sauce and mild roasty malts. The taste is somewhat different than the aroma with rich malts, chocolate and coffee. Wow, this is rich and nearly decadent in its opulence. Into the finish mild burnt malts and malt astringency add some balance to the experience. It has a healthy dose of YUM. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 7, 2008 On tap. Dark thick black with no head to speak of. Powerful flavor of roasted coffee nicely balanced with a bittersweet chocolate presence. This was very good, but also very rich, no more than 1 at a time for me.
