Taste is similar with some chocolate present as well. Finish is dry. Not much in the way of hops. Mouthfeel is good and creamy. Moderate carbonation. An excellent stout. franksnbeans (265), Columbus, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Pours out black with a chocolate milk head that laces sheets as it dies. Big roasted coffer beans in the nose with a little sweet malt. Taste is very big coffee roasted beans and grounds, also chocolate makes itself knows with a smooth as silk finish with the slightest dry finish. Its not even funny how smooth this is, and its not crazy thick. A delicious coffee stout with a drinkability that rivals all stouts. Try this Juelze (922), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 20, 2007 Pours a dark brown with with dark tan head that fades quickly. Aroma is very upfront with the coffee. Notes of a strong, dark roasted coffee are the first thing I’m picking up followed with some light charred wood. Some light notes of chocolate are able to waft into my nose as well. Taste is of dark roasted coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, and light floral hops to prevent this beer from being lop-sided. Palate is amazing on this bad boy. It comes on fairly strong with it’s flavor and then glides very lightly over the tongue. An almost creaminess ensues leaving you to think the finish is going to be watery, but uh no, this beer doesn’t finish weak. Instead, this beer comes back with a strong finish reminding you of what you just drank. Carbonation is moderate and the alcohol is well hidden. Solid. MaltOMeal (668), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA

Pours a dark brown/black with a thin tan head which dissipated. Aroma was burnt coffee grounds and cigarette butt ash. Taste is very strong, burnt coffee. It is true to the label, just not very complex. Medium mouthfeel with dry aftetrtaste. Decent stout. Beerlando (2353), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Fresh batch 8216. This one pours a dense, opaque black body with a thick, spongy, khaki colored head. The foam shows excellent retention, and leaves patches of craggy lacing etched onto the glass. Aromas include freshly crushed coffee beans, baker’s chocolate, scorched caramel and roasted barley. The flavor is built on the same theme, though it takes a turn for the more complex. The caramel component is much more mellow and sweet than the nose indicates, as is the chocolate. Earthy hops add bitterness, while a touch of anise lends depth. Well balanced, with a medium-full, slightly viscous mouthfeel. Finishes long and roasty, with an ever so slightly sticky remainder on the tongue. This one reminds me alot of Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, though it falls just short of its far more expensive Danish counterpart. Still an excellent beer, and a better value. Aroma of strong coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is the same as the aroma with bitter dark chocolate finish. ilovedarkbeer (1369), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Pours a dark chocolate brown color with a dark mocho head that has red lacing and turns to creame colored quickly. Nose is of stale / sour coffee and roasted malt. Mouth feel is soft and a bit prickly with a long lasting finish. Tastes like dominican coffee and a bit of natural cocoa. Great brew but a bit heavy. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Updated: Oct 7, 2008Pours pitch black with a quickly diminishing tan head and loads of lacing. Aroma is heavily coffee, a mix between french roast and a vanilla cappucino, along with roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is sweet chocolate up front, very smooth, with a strong dry coffee roast taste in the back. It’s quite striking how the palate is similar to a roasted coffee. A VERY easy drinking stout. Rocks hard!
