Oct 25, 2007 12 oz. bottle. black pour, head of brown froth with good lacing. Aroma of fresh brewed roast coffee, burnt malt, earthy, heavy chocolate. hop bitterness up front with with a full bodied texture. Sweet at first then turns bitter. Overall tastes of... well, coffee... lots of coffee. A little much for my liking -- though good beer no doubt.

Oct 21, 2007 Bottle. It’s a Bell’s stout taste fest! Pours opaque black with a dark, medium sizes head. The aroma is, what else? More coffee ice cream than coffee.
Taste is a little bitter for my taste, but I’m not a coffee drinker.

Oct 18, 2007 Updated: Oct 19, 2007Dark pour, dark head, what did you think? Big coffee nose. Flavor profile had lots of coffee again, but there is a nice chocolate element in there as well. Problem is that the coffee is not so well incorporated into the beer. Tastes like wet, used coffee grounds. Not completely disgusting, not my favorite Bells offering.

Oct 17, 2007 Pours dark dark with a small tan head. Smells like sweet chocolatey roasted coffee. The flavor is bittersweet chocolate and lots of coffee. A nice slight bitterness on the finish.

Oct 16, 2007 Pours black with tan head that slowly diminishes. Aroma is smoky and full of coffee with hints of chocolate. The body is medium to full. The taste is all about coffee. Realy nice roated flavors. with a lingering bitter finish. very nice.

Oct 15, 2007 Starbucks/Caribou/Barnies in a beer; plain and simple. This is the strongest coffee stout I can remember. Strong smell and taste. This is a dark roast for sure. :) I don’t taste one ounce of alcohol. Pitch black color. Long lingering coffee roast finish.

Oct 15, 2007 12 oz bottle from Sam’s, Durham. Man, yet another killer - and highly distinct - stout from Bells. It’s got a very full body, with a really abundant mouthfeel that distinguishes it happily from some fairly thin coffee stouts out there. But the aroma is killer, and the flavor even better, with rich bitter chocolates blending seamlessly with potent malts and extremely strong roast coffee (tastes more like Italian than Sumatran if you ask me, but what the hell). Kudos again, Bells!
