Nice dark brown color. Thin enough to make it a session beer when it’s cold out. Yum. pressboxjoe (74), , New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Bottle from the Beeryard - tasted last winter, rating just added now. Bottle. Black, medium tan head. Strong coffee aroma, raisins, currants. Not my favorite aroma, but not by any means bad. Bitter, like sweetened black coffee. Slightly thin, but generally good palate. madvike (346), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 Bottle - Batch 9375 - Dark pour with a small tan head. A blast of light roast coffee, cinnamon, asphalt, wood, and some light milkiness. Flavor is really roasty and finishes with coffee and cream. There’s lots of roasty bitterness on the finish. It definitely smoothed out as it warmed, and lost some of the biting carbonation. Definitely not as much coffee flavor as, say, FBS, but still a good brew. andyhwcinc (57), Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Extremely good but very expensive ($15.99 for a six pack) stout that is consistent with two things: coffee and chocolate aroma & flavors. The description states "truly enlightening beer" and I couldn’t agree more. barak316 (7), USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2009 Bottle. I love stouts and this one did not disappoint. Wonderful coffee aromas with a creamy finish. johnnyoski (163), Macomb, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with an average light brown head. Heavy coffee bean aroma with some oak and dark chocolate. Roasted coffee is obviously the dominant flavor with plenty of it in the initial and finishing taste. Also has a presence of smoke, black licorice and cocoa that contributes to a dry finish. Surprisingly creamy texture with plenty of carbonation. Very good and highly recommended for anyone that likes a heavy dose of coffee flavor. jstraw (777), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 23, 2009 Draft at South Park Tavern in Dayton, OH. Not a huge stout, but flavorful as can be. Big roast, big coffee dominates this beer. The pour is dark, dark brown with the aromas of dark roasted coffee. Very drinkable, very easy going. I could drink these all night.
