| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Appearance is a beauty. Thick, creamy head that dissapears after a few minutes leaving a thick lace. The beer pours very dark and gives the impression of thickness.
Smell is typical for this style, cream/milk with hints of caramel and other sweet scents.
Taste is damn good, delivering what I want in a sweet stout with major blasts of cream.
Mouthfeel is good with a medium to thick body that coats the mouth as it goes down.
Drinkability is a high point, this goes down easy and Would make a good session stout. Would have again. phaleslu (547), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 18, 2009 12 oz. bottle at Fries Cafe in Cincinnati. Pours almost black with lumpy brown head that thins quickly. Aroma is roast, coffee, a bit of chocolate, syrup, molasses. Flavor is very smoky, with roast coffee, syrup, sugar, malt. Complex but slightly overwhelmed by the smokiness. Medium body and smooth on the palate, both sweet and a little bitter. Sweet coffee aftertaste. Very unique stout. skortila (2905), Bunnik, Netherlands

Black coloured with a beige head. The taste is slightly bitter, has some sweetness, coffee, roast, rye, dried fruits and some black currant. Medium bodied. Fine beer. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 14, 2009 Bottled. Dark color, medium brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, bit of rye, plums, dried fruit, slight hint of vanilla, chocolat. Taste of rye and roasted malts, and is not as complex as the aroma. Very good beer, a bit overrated perhaps, but for the style it deserves its rating. grebs (71), Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Extremely complex nose but the flavor does not quite live up. Nevertheless an excellent flavor. Missing the licorice but the rest of the chocolate and coffee flavors carries it through. Body not completely full as you would expect. Hoppiness quite pronounced for style and not out of place at all. The only thing keeping this from being truly excellent is the palate. Don’t get me wrong though, this beer is still highly recommended. thirdeye11 (553), Texas, USA

Nose is extremely complex, oats, sweet syrup. Taste is beet sugar, coffee, dark chocolate and also quite complex. Nicely carbonated, smoky dry finish with some lingering coffee as well. Quite good.
