Rustyham (335), miami, Florida, USA Jul 3, 2009 Not as refreshing as a wheat beer should be, but decently thick and citrusy. I’d rather go German when it comes to Wheats. Tap at Yard House, Coral Gables. scrizzz (986), kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 2, 2009 Batch 8995, thanks bitbucket! Hazy murky yellow, some orange, all around blonde i guess. My stuffy nose couldn’t detect much beyond the dry wheat nose. Refreshing with a dusty dry side and a liquid sugar side. There’s some enjoyable depth if I look for it, though I also could drink 6 by the pool and not think twice either. Gets more and more dry as I drink it. punkeedo (457), San Antonio, Texas, USA Jun 30, 2009 2009 Tap. Mediocre at best, this beer tends toward non-descript-ness and wateriness. Aroma of fruits and light hops, there is a hops and wheat presence in the flavor, but finishes quite watery. Appearance dark yellow-orange with a light white head. Wouldn’t try again. Maddog (175), Kettering, Ohio, USA Jun 27, 2009 Had curtesy of Mitch at Mitchapalooza 6. A decent Belgian style white that I would rate ahead of Blue moon but not on the level of Hoegaarden. Fresh, crisp, fruity in flavor this ale is a nice summer beer. Cloudy in appearance and floral in aroma, this is a very drinkable session beer. slitcher (47), Freeport, Illinois, USA Jun 22, 2009 Pours a hazy gold with a medium-thick white head. Wheat and a little sugar on the nose. Flavors of wheat, yeast, with a slight hop bitterness at the end. High carbonation and flzvor are very reminisent of a Belgian-style ale. Very good. VAYankee (246), Virginia, USA Jun 16, 2009 Cloudy golden body with a thin offwhite head. Sweet wheat, citrus, yeasty aroma. Lightly sweet wheaty flavor. Aftertaste has a slightly hoppy bitterness. bblack99 (72), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jun 14, 2009 A nice summertime beer; pours a golden straw color with minimal head but lots of carbonation. Very little aroma other than a touch of wheat/grass. Nice, clean flavors of wheat, yeast, and banana.
Fizzy carbonated mouthfeel detracts a bit, and I think the unfiltered wheat goodness of Boulevard actually makes a better beer for the dog days of summer. Pipper (113), Ohio, USA Jun 14, 2009 Sample at Bell’s Fest in OH. Cloudy orange pour with a steady stream of carbonation keeping it lively. Again that wet dog aroma (there has to be a better/more sophisticated way of describing how this aroma comes about since I seem to run into quite often) and a sweet corn flavor.
