EHGsean (28), Canada May 5, 2009 Nice wheat malt and spicy hops in the presentation. An excellent summer ale. Dense white head, and classic wheat beer haze. tsetlock (66), Livonia, Michigan, USA May 4, 2009 I’ve been drinking this for years now and never realized that I haven’t rated it. Pours a soft hazy orange with a nice thick frothy white head. Aroma is very very wheaty. Some citrus fruit and sweet fruit nectar. Flavor starts with a big grainy wheat kick with the big grainy flavor. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A definite refresher for the summer. TampaBrew (726), Tampa, Florida, USA May 3, 2009 Pours hazy yellow. Floaters all over the place. Wheaty, and orange zest nose. Flavor is refreshing citrus and some buscuit. Not bad. noompa (130), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 3, 2009 Tasting on Easter @ jbean’s. Bells’ answer to Gumballhead, although I liked this a little more: melons, honey and pronounced wheatiness. Again, not a favorite style, but very refreshing. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland May 1, 2009 Tap at pub, Kalamazoo. Hazy dark yellow colour, tiny white head. Aroma has wheat, citrus and yeast. Flavour is grainy, citrus and grassy hops. Refreshing and easy drinkable. Meatmallet (120), Salem, Illinois, USA May 1, 2009 A cloudy yellowish orange with lots of suspended particles swirling around in it. It has a thick white head that left lots of frothy lace.Smell is great with citrus, wheat, and spice. Taste has the wheat, citrus, spice and hops which all make an appearance but none are amazing. Just a little bitter at the end. vomit (65), USA Apr 29, 2009 Hmmmm, I like some of Bell’s lineup, but this one tasted a little weird for my taste. By weird, I mean strange; by strange, I mean odd. By odd, I mean unusual. By unusual, I mean: DOES NOT TASTE LIKE BLATZ!
Stick with Blatz for all your sophisticated hosting needs. Save this stuff for the neighbors and in-laws. Trust me, I’ve been to Milwaukee so I ought to know. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Apr 29, 2009 Bottle at Detroit airport pre DLD trip... ligth yellow ... light fruit little lemon little melon nose ... served to cold ... juicy fruits ... little dry and quite low flavour profile.
