BeerCat (1), , California, USA does not count Sep 2, 2008 Perfect beer for the summer. Flavorful, light, and relaxing. Fruity, but not too fruity. Shane087 (26), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Sep 1, 2008 Nice orange amber color with a white head. Orange/apricot flavor, not too sweet. A little too hoppy for my taste but still very drinkable. Perm (151), Tryon, North Carolina, USA Sep 1, 2008 The taste of summer.
12 oz bottle at the Jerusalem Garden, Asheville. This American Wheat beer was a perfect complement to my Middle-Eastern vegetarian platter (falafel, baba ghanoush, tabbouleh, kalamata olives, and hommous with pita).
The fruitiness from the weizen yeast perked right up with the Mediterranean spices and the Saaz finish cut right in with the olive oil in the food to make this a quencher.
Another stellar offering from Bells!
envane (251), Evanston, Illinois, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bright hazy orange with a big white head. This one is quite fruity but unlike a hefeweizen its more aof a apricot/orange flavour. Finishes on a hop note. Very good. GAManiac (1123), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 30, 2008 Pours an ever so slightly hazy golden amber with lots of bubbles rising to the top into a short-living white head that dissipates to a swirl and ring quickly leaving traces of lacing. Aroma is sweet with bready wheat balance with the citrus hops with lemons and oranges. Taste follows the aroma with the big wheat backbone up front and a slight hop bitterness in the finish with mainly citrus. A hint of spices show up in the taste that I didn’t get in the smell. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with tons of carbonation and makes for a very drinkable summer wheat beer. Ceebs25 (217), Naperville, Illinois, USA Aug 28, 2008 12 oz bottle. Light on the aroma, nothing off-putting, but nothing too crazy, light wheat, little citrus zest. Not bad on the pour, starch white bubbly head, stays alright, slight lacing, very translucent with a good amount of carbonation and particulate but not that unattractive too me, blond orange in color. Nice mouthfeel, not a ton of flavor (maybe just that the wheat malt doesn’t give much), but not watery either, mellow citrus and some spice, end and linger with minor grassy type hop, smooth yet wish there would be alittle more bite. Really nothing wrong here with this wheat, but not much going on at the same time, but i like it overall for the style jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Aug 27, 2008 From a bottle poured a clear organgish color with a fair amount of head. Nice smooth flavor with a quick finish. Chipper (179), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 27, 2008 A amber-orange color with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of fruit, spice, and a little hop. Flavor of citrus and slightly bitter, is very smooth with good carbonation that lasted. Great for summer.
