MatSciGuy (629), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA Apr 19, 2008 [bottle] Poured a hazy straw gold with lots of floaties. Aroma of wheat malt, lemon zest, and citrus fruits. Flavor is nice and light with citrus, wheat, and a little bit of hops. Would make a great session ale. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Apr 18, 2008 A very unusual beer. When I opened it I could not tell that it was a wheat. I had aromas of orange I thought. The taste was about the same. It tasted good but I was really confused as to the style. Very fruity aftertaste with more of a bitter than most wheats I’ve had. Carbonation and mouthfeel are good. Unusual in a very good sort of way. An almost thick drinker. Vas19 (293), Maryland, USA Apr 18, 2008 Pours a hazy gold orange with a thin white head. Light wheaty aroma. Sweet wheat and melon flavor. Nice and light, good for a summer day. Solid wheat beer. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Apr 18, 2008 Updated: Apr 4, 2009Well, Bells really outdid themselves with this 2009 batch. It’s slightly stronger, and a helluva lot more flavorful, but balanced as well. Tastes more like a proper Belgian wheat ale, and I loved every drop. Cheers! hopson (591), Williamsville, New York, USA Apr 17, 2008 really enjoyed this one, even though it was not very high on the hop presence at all. Honey tasting throughout, with some nice subtle esters. Summer sipper. jcweaver (65), VA Beach, Virginia, USA Apr 15, 2008 The color is a hazy yellowish gold, reminds me of straw. A small whitish head that stayed through most of the beer. The aroma, what I could smell was yeasty and grassy, not unpleasant but quite unremarkable. Like the aroma the taste was unremarkable. Not bad for a wheat beer, but not great. Wheat beers are not my favorite, so for this style it is not bad. dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Apr 15, 2008 I’ll admit, wheat beers aren’t my favorite. But as the weather turns warmer, it is always nice to see what might be a good beach/cookout beer. This is good choice for that sort of beer. Aroma is much richer than most wheat beers, with a good bit of yeastiness to it. Pours hazy orange as you would expect. 6% alcohol is far from strong, but this is a very drinkable beer. The flavors are light, but more more mellow and balanced than your blue moons, etc... There is a citrus and light clove note to it. Bells has made better beers, but it would be tough to have a better wheat than this one. Unique69crazy (119), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Apr 15, 2008 A delicate strong version of a good wheat ale. I would like to compare this to a Blue Moon, another wheat ale that I would like to list as one of my favorites. This brew is great compared though with a richer, more developed taste. Slightly cloudy with a golden head that sparkles. Pours like a river of gold and tastes just as smooth.
