Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 12, 2009 Pours an eggshell white head with lace and a hazy golden body with particulates. Smells of a little zest, spice, and clean. Great afternoon session beer. mcjay (301), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2009 Golden color with an amber hue and a thin white head. Slightly sweet aroma with hints of grains and citrus. Rich malty body with flavors of caramel and wheat. Delicious and refreshing. I could see drinking a few more. yesyouam (587), Fairport, New York, USA Jul 6, 2009 Bell’s Oberon Ale is a clear, bright golden ale with a thin white head that fades to a film and leaves nice lacing. It has a spicy hop aroma; floral, resiny and a touch sweet. Nice. A note of honey lingers in the nose. It has a creamy, chewy medium body and a dry, slightly acidic finish. It’s a crisp and bitter flavor, like citrus tea with a biscuity backbone. It’s a bold and proper use of wheat. guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Jul 6, 2009 on tap at festival in crystal lake pour was yellow and hazy it could have been the plastic cup with off white head aromas of grains and citrus flavors of the same just alright j12601 (1151), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Jul 6, 2009 Bottle thanks to daknole. Thanks! Batch 9100. Pours a hazy gold with a medium white head that fades quickly. Grainy and somewhat unpleasant aromas… must be the Saaz. Sweet and wheaty, light honey flavors. Finishes with a light bitterness, and a bit of cardboard. Rather unpleasant, and a big disappointment for a Bell’s brew. At less than two months, I can’t figure that it’s old, just not so good.
