I tried this first last year and was underwhelmed. I’ve heard this year’s batch is better. We’ll see. I’m not a fan of the aroma, which is a slight yeastiness, bubblegum and cardboard. Small but persistent head and excellent lacing. Hazy peach in appearance. Fruity taste nicely balanced with the hops. Good taste. aracauna (2422), Georgia, USA

The first aroma and flavor that you pick up is apricot. A good bit of it. That’s followed by the expected wheaty and malty flavors that start to dominate towards the middle of the glass. Some citric crispness is present througout. Very little bitterness or hop characteristics are present. This is an awesome wheat beer. Just so everyone knows, Hennes is a great big bastard. He gives me this stuff (and an Expedition Stout) and expects me not to get jealous of him being able to have easy access to this stuff. Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA

Interesting wheat - thick and lot's of "bread-dough" qualities, along with some citrus. I'm not sure if I cared for the hop flavor though. eaglefan538 (2403), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2006 Not a bad beer, this one poured a cloudy/hazy golden yellow with a slight orange tint. The aroma was of orange peels, low hopping, and other citrus flavors. The flavor was much of the same, some American wheat funkiness, and even a little glass. Mouthfeel was moderate. If not for the high alcohol, this would be a nice summer wheat. Re-rate, May ’06: This tasted pretty lowly hopped this time through, too sweet. Some extra grainy flavors (even a touch of bread) also detected this second time through. Where are the hops? Where is the wheat funk? Both were faint. Boutip (2402), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2006 Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow ale with some white haze and a medium bubbly white head with average retention. Aroma of weak wheat with some discernable hops. Taste is quite refreshing with a nice dose of wheat back with some sensible Saaz hops, which provide character without shadowing all the malt. Body is above average and about right for the style. Very enjoyable beer overall and would make a great session beer for hot summer days.
