Pours golden-wheat color, very cloudy with a small white head. Aroma is light and citrusy, with yeast and sourdough bread notes. Refreshing wheaty sweet flavor with lemon, honey and mild summer fruits. Creamy, smooth body with light carbonation. Nice summer beer! Dorwart (1814), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 24, 2006 Decent bright white head of fine bubbles. Good carbonation. Strange composty aroma with some grass and yeast. Maybe some light fruit. Color is a hazy golden orange. Kind of dry bland flavor. Little bit of yeast and wheat and kind of gritty. Little bit of sickly sweetness to it. This seems to hit me on a bunch of wheat brews. They just don’t sit all that well in my stomach. Finish is dry and pretty clean with a after palate similar to that of a eating a crisp apple. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2002 I’ll add to the speculation that this year’s version is different than before. Although I didn’t rate last year’s version, It was quite different, more citrusy, more overloaded with a heavy mouth-puckering wheat quality (I didn’t know what that was at the time, and at that time I hated Oberon). Now there is a compensating huge yeastiness, and I like it, but it doesn’t seem to challenge as before. Really nice and full-bodied for a summer brew. Beautiful to look at and smell. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2006 Draft. Pours hazy golden with some orange hue, along with a white head. Spicy, lemon, and yeast aroma. Flavor of orange zest, lemon, apple balance by a spicy hop bitterness. Clean thirst quenching finish. Not normally a fan of american wheats, but this one is a an old staple and favorite of mine. The european ingredients is probably why I like this one so much. Great summer seasonal.
