Soft but very hoppy, fully aromatic and lightly bready with little to no toast or fruit. Light lemons and a touch of camphor or spearmint. Unusual, full flavored, and dangerously quaffable. Flavour is bright and sweet lemon with ginger. Balanced sweetness with slight sour from the lemon presence. Nice unique flavour but for some reason it didn’t overly impress me. theisti (1696), Leawood, Kansas, USA

12 oz bottle purchased at Lukas. Batch 9026. Pour is hazed golden yellow with a pretty 1 1/2 inch white head. A lot of suspended floaties visible in the glass. Full lacing. Aroma of wheat, earthy yeasty spiciness, some soft clove towards the back. Fresh nose. Taste is grainy earthy wheat, with light lemon citric tartness and clove yeastiness. Also a big blast of orange bitter hoppiness near the finish. Everything is present, nicely integrated and really fresh. The aftertaste is fairly long, sweet, slightly bitter, hoppiness. Palate is medium to thin, coats the mouth a bit and is very easy to drink. Nice amount of carbonation. Nice one. (7,3,8,4,14 - 3.6)

Pours a one-fingered, white head that settles quickly but leaves some lace. Looking for the wheat and not finding it, this is a pale without the bitter hoppy aftertaste. 12oz bottle $1.75, from Liquor Barn, Lexington, KY. hayduke (1690), Eureka, California, USA

Now, to me American Wheat’s are one of the most uninteresting styles out there. We just don’t do the wheat beer justice. Unless it has some fruit in it, it’s usually some boring POS beer. This isn’t that. An appearance of bright yellow and orange, slight haze and a nice two-finger off white head. Aroma is citrusy, slightly yeasty with a bit of cracker. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and lively. Flavors had a crisp, clean citrus hop, slightly sweet and an excellent clean finish. Bell’s makes another excellent beer and this can be consumed all day and all night. Nice beer. Odeed (1681), Bakersfield, California, USA
