| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2002 soft yellow brew, the color of scrambled eggs, hazy from the first pour and increasingly so as the yeast forces are marshalled. a kitten’s saucer of cream on top, with billows, blizzards and blankets of beautiful lace. pleasant and (to me) curious, unique nose: few things edible or otherwise come to mind to borrow as metaphors: it’s not woody or bready, not particularly fruity or citrusy, no spice that i can name...celery and oats maybe, but that hardly sounds flattering, some flower petals without the perfume. the palate IS obvious: very smooth, creamy, dry, quenching. not malty, not hoppy, yet medium bodied: it must be all about yeast. i’m no ’yeasthead’, but this is one worth contemplating further. This years is much better than last years. Last year was plagued with diacytl problems. It was very inconsistent (had a few good ones and some really bad ones).
ReRate #2 2004 bottle. This year’s version is way better than the 03. Very zesty and sweet. More sweet than last years which was dominated by a spicy saaz hop thing.
ReRate 10/24/02-had this on tap again, but im still not shure if the tap handle was not changed-tasted more like the amber, but i wasn’t shure. This time around if it was oberon, it was steller!
good wheat, probably my fav, but still not my boat. Huge citrus aroma and light orange appearance. had this on tap the same night i had the sierra nevada summerfest and i liked the nevada better hate to say it.

Aroma is wheaty with hints of hops and lemon citrus. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, wheaty with lemon. Very refreshing brew. lethe (168), Stony Brook by way of Cincinnati, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 19, 2005 Oberon is a great wheat ale all summer long. It provides a template for other American wheats to work from as it is aromatic and richly flavored. Increasingly yeasty in finish as a nod to German wheats. Capa (993), Yokosuka, Japan
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 12, 2008 Hazy, glowing orange with a small white head. Orange, citrus, fresh hops, light wheat, and yeast in the aroma. Full bodied with noticeable carbonation. Orange, light citrus hops, yeast, and spice in the flavor. A very enjoyable, and thoroughly refreshing summer brew. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange color with almost no head. Aroma is lightly sweet with alot of citrus, some malt, and a hint of hops. Flavor is orange, bread, and a small amount of hops at the finish. Also, just a bit of pine. This beer tastes awsome and is very well balanced. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a bit of carbonation. The alcohol content is a bit higher than most regular wheat beers, but it is still quite refreshing and easy to drink. This is one of the better American wheats that I have tried. Another great beer from Bell’s!
