The aroma of yeast, orange peels, sweet malt, quite a treat for this old nose. Sweet with lots of malt, the top middling in feel to the palate, finish has a moderate acidity, the hops spicy in their persistent bite, dry as a desert bone aftertaste, quite a nice beer.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 10, 2001 this is the best american version of a wheat beer that i’ve tried (so far--no doubt i have many more to try)
it really isn’t comparable to a german hefe, but it is so much better than all of the blander american versions....great mouthful of flavor. a bit sweet but has just the right hop balance to offset the sweetness. krisbierjaeger (844), dolores, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2002 soft yellow brew, the color of scrambled eggs, hazy from the first pour and increasingly so as the yeast forces are marshalled. a kitten’s saucer of cream on top, with billows, blizzards and blankets of beautiful lace. pleasant and (to me) curious, unique nose: few things edible or otherwise come to mind to borrow as metaphors: it’s not woody or bready, not particularly fruity or citrusy, no spice that i can name...celery and oats maybe, but that hardly sounds flattering, some flower petals without the perfume. the palate IS obvious: very smooth, creamy, dry, quenching. not malty, not hoppy, yet medium bodied: it must be all about yeast. i’m no ’yeasthead’, but this is one worth contemplating further. Flavor is smooth and easily drinkable, this is quite tasty. Hard to even think of this as an American Wheat. Good stuff. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 14, 2006 Updated: May 30, 2006almost no aroma at all. extremely flavorful for an american wheat. very good. a little bitterness. reddish, clear. boy my notes for that one sucked, eh. RERATE. what the fuck was i talking about with my first rating? it’s not clear, it’s a wheat and it’s totally opaque orange. it’s a beautiful beer, though the head was uglyish. 2 fingers or so worth. my friend got a quarter barrel of this. so good. orange (blasphemy) actually complemented it quite well. waeltzy (53), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2005 I was really impressed with this beer. Really smooth. Aroma was of sweet oranges and warm bread. Appearance was a cloudy off-amber. Standard head with some nice lacing. Tasted a bit too sweet for my liking but i can see how people really like this. I usually enjoy sweet wheats but I think i was eating spicy food with this beer and it enhanced the sweetness. I will definitly reach for another. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2008 Bottle from my girlfriend after visiting Michigan: Very cloudy honey colored pour with not clarity at all and a dense creamy white head. Crisp bright aroma. Wheaty, fruity, light grains, honey soaked lemon, peppery phenolics and lemon grass. Creamy and substantial feel- yet it’s refreshing. Creamy wheat malt flavors with a touch of grain, some lemon grass and a note of herbal honey and late zesty smooth grassy bitterness to make it insanely drinkable. Great summer beer!
