Apr 21, 2009 12oz bottle courtesy of iconoklaztor, thanks! The color is a very light but cloudy orange. It smells more like a pale ale than a wheat beer as described on the label. The taste definitely reveals the wheat and makes for a nice ale. This is very drinkable and a perfect summer offering that I am glad to have tried.

Oct 22, 2006 The orange ice cream of beer. Opaque orange color with sediment on the bottom of the bottle. Good flavor and very drinkable. Spicy, fruity, good wheat flavor. The aroma was a little weak though.

Mar 30, 2007 12oz bottle served in a shaker. Batch #7816, packaged on 02/06/2007. Pours that familiar golden orange color, with a small, sudsy off white head. Decent lacing. Very cloudy body. Looks extremely appetizing. Aroma of malt, spice, hops and a nice citrus zest. Also pick up a bit of that familiar Belgian funk. Heavily astringent on the tongue. Fore of wheat, spices, hops and some orange and lemon notes. Back of the tongue brings a nice malty sweetness into the fold. Finishes with a nice dry, spicy flavor. The wheat and earthiness really come through in the finish. Medium bodied mouthfeel. This would be perfect at the beach or just on a hot day by the pool.
Very well done, Bell’s is 2/2 for me personally so far.

Aug 7, 2008 12oz bottle. cloudy orange or yellow color - depending how you look at it. with small white head. smells yeasty with slight citrus and wheat. tastes like total cereal - the wheat obviously. also some hops, light citrus and some spices. this rates pretty highly within my wheat ale experience. a good baseline for what I expect out of the style.

Aug 18, 2007 Maybe a bit too much citrus, but like it a lot. I just don’t understand the "cult status" it seems to enjoy to many who have raved about it to me. I want to try it sometime on tap, also want to try it side-by side with their Amber Ale, Pale Ale, and Winter Ales. I think I’ll buy up a fresh 6 pack about the time the Winter Ale comes out, or maybe make a pilgrimage to their Cafe in K-Zoo.
