I don’t know about the bottled version yet. RERate for 2002: Gone is the citrus finish the yeast is now the major player(minus points)
There is magic in this bottle. I don’t like wheat beers but this one is much different. The best place to drink this beer is on Mackinac Island in the summer. There is something about the smell of horse piss and the taste of Oberon that is magical. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. stpiker (4), USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 2, 2004 A midwestern summer classic! Refreshing and flavorful, beautiful cloudy yellow appearance. Rich, full body and good hop presence for a wheat beer.
Note: this review for draft Oberon - this beer is VERY different (disappointing) in bottles. I may have had mishandled merchandise, though. mstockton (186), Rochester, Michigan, USA

Good head retention and a full, lasting lace. Aroma is thin w/ dusty citrus rind. Medium full nectar w/ soft residual effers. The texture is thick and creamy smooth. Nice! A big malty backone supports flavors of banana and vanilla cream, mild bubble gum and biscuits, lil’ peaches, apples and citrus rind. Theres a very mild hop component that is just barely perceptible. The finish is bittered but only mildly and has a slightly acidic twitch to it. Overall: thick like nectar and full of creamy flavors and textures. Highly recommended. sanmiguel (118), Illinois, USA

It does not have a skunky scent, but a flowery, fruity scent. My drinking mates have raved so much about this beer, and they’re right! Highly recommended!!! Light amber with a thin head. The aroma smells fruity, especially citrus. Spicy and full bodied, mainly citrus (orangy) flavors with some floral undertones. Nice and hoppy. Does vary from year to year, so if you weren’t a big fan this years batch, give it a sip again next Summer.
