durhambeer (397), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Finally rated this one. Was pretty underwhelmed when I first tried it, but I’ve come around to a point where I really appreciate this beer. It’s not a hop bomb, and that’s why I like it. I think it was too subtle for me at first, but those are often the beers that turn out to be faves, and this is a case in point. Nice bright orange/amber pour. Minimal head. Citrus, mild hops, some sweetness on the nose. Nothing too complex, but that’s not what it’s going for. Crisp and delicious.
beezz86 (29), Jasper, Indiana, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottle. Poured a pale yellow color with a slight haze and a sediment floating within the beer. The aroma had a slightly bread malt with strong floral hops. The beer had a thin body and texture, soft carbonation, and a slightly bitter finish. The flavor was slightly bitter. Overall, this is not a bad pale ale. I think it is very drinkable, but I prefer more bitterness in a pale ale. Not bad though. SSSteve (1512), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 24, 2008 a cloudy gold beer under a medium sized creamy white head. crsip, lemony citrus hop aroma with wheaty malts. flavor is citrus hoppy and crisp. pretty standard but solid stuff. light bodied. johntreeter (90), Greenwood, Indiana, USA Aug 23, 2008 21 oz bottle. Pours a golden copper color with lots of sediment. Almost white good sized head left no lacing. Very nice aroma of mostly hops. Nice balance in flavor just nothing special. Med body, med carb, watery texture, and dry feel. A good beer, but not anything to return to. 17thfloor (641), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 19, 2008 Pours a hazy glowing orange with a big medium white froth on top. Aroma of toasted grains and honey, could swear there is some wheat in there, some oranges and a bit chalky. Very straight forward, boring. Light sweet caramel flavor drowned out by big salty hop bitterness. Full flavored with zero character. NomDeBeer (143), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 15, 2008 Gold color, very hazy. Nicely balanced beer with sweet malts and citrus hops. Smooth finish. Certainly not the best pale ale out there, but it’s good, very drinkable.
