Draught at Brixx Pizza. Finally getting around to rating this one. Dark brown with a small tan head. Roasted malts, coffee, light cocoa. Solid, if not very exciting. But that’s what a porter should be.

pours deep black with a quickly idssipating white head. Mouthfeel is very icy and silkyu with a tickling fizz. Flavor is of grapes and dark malts- roasty but not burnt. Larger flavor. Bottle from Total Wine and More, Naples.

Really good porter here. lots of roasted malts on the nose. Pours as one might expect, black with a tan head. Coffee and caramel notes on the palate i even get a bit of a nutty character to it. Very complex porter. Another solid one from Bells. Great brew would definitely recommend it.

Looks like coffee, tan creamy very small head, smells like chocolate ala roasted malt, very malty with some caramel, light syrup texture and lightly carbonated, chocolate aftertaste and a little sour, nice porter/

Bottle. Very dark brown, nearly black, and a nice foamy tan head. Nose seems a little roasty, a little fruity, not terribly strong. Flavor is a lot of sweet chocolate/coffee malt, lightly bitter. Not bad, if a little one-dimensional. This can’t stand up to a porter like Black Butte. Kind of a shame, since I brought this one all the way from Illinois to Texas to try it.

I drank this last night so this is from memory and it probably won’t be too thorough. From the bottle. Aroma was roasted coffee beans with some light chocolate. Dark brown with a very thin small light tan head. Mostly, all the aroma notes were present in the flavor, but it felt thin and almost watery. Aftertaste left something to be desire. Not something I’ll suffering through again anytime soon.

Pours dark brown. Fluffy two-finger head of tan foam. Decent retention and pretty good lacing. Nice roasted maltiness. Some coffee, chocolate and nuttiness. Slight notes of vanilla and hazelnut. Roasted barley. Light chocolate and coffee notes. Toasted hazelnut. Not quite hearty enough for my preferences. Medium bodied and slightly waterey tasting. Carbonation is too sharp, defeating any creaminess that might have helped this one out. Would make an easy session brew, if only by it’s inoffensiveness and lack of anything ’special’. I suppose, if I wanted to drink alot of these, I probably could. Not my fave release from Bell’s.

To get the full effect of the aroma, let it warm a bit. The taste is somewhat a let down after the delicious nose. Hints of chocolate and roasted barley lightly kissed by smoke. Palate was a little thin ..... not a bad brew, just not powerful enough.
