12 ounce bottle that was given to me by a few guys in line at Dark Lord Day 2008. Thanks guys! I must admit I am ashamed to say that I drank this one out of the bottle so I did not get a good look at the appearance or a full feel for the aroma. I do know that this is one tasty porter! The taste consisted of a lot of roasty malt with a bit of chocolate bitterness and some nuts. This was very tasty stuff! I am looking forward to trying this one again!

Nov 30, 2008 Pours a nice dark brown with a thick, fading head. Not much aroma, but what there is has malt, fruit, some honey. Light, but a full feel. Roasty, some coffee notes. Very easy-drinking porter. A pleasure to sip through. Not all that complex, but a good solid beer.

Nov 26, 2008 Pours dark, dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma is of dark chocolate and a light tinge of licorice. Bittersweet chocolate along with coffee and a nice nutty flavor. A lot going on, nice complexity. Finishes nice and clean with a subtle aftertaste. Not heavy or cloying.

Nov 20, 2008 A very nice chocolaty beer with notes of peanuts and coffee as well. Very potent hop finish, especially for a Porter. Yet another in a long line of Bells winners I sampled this summer!

Nov 20, 2008 This porter was a little disappointing. It was a little too light in body and a little too light on flavor. There were definitely some notes of chocolate and dark roasted coffee, but they were just a little too subtle. The finish was the best part of this beer. It offered the most as far as body and flavor were concerned. The tan head lasted only a few moments and left only a minimal amount of lacing around the glass. There really wasn’t much to the nose of this beer, either. Again, there were some small and subtle hints of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. But it just lacked any real noteworthy punch.
