RomanW70 (284), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Jul 20, 2008 Bottle thanks to Alobar. Aroma of chocolate and roast. Taste is similar, with strong chocolate and toffee and coffee up front that fades into a medium coffee bitterness. Good mouthfeel. Good beer.
Naka (415), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2008 Courtesy of Juart. Pours a very dark brown / black color with a 1 finger light beige fizzy head that is gone after a few seconds. The aroma is chocolate, caramel, a little bit of cherries, and strong coffee. Has a nice dark roasted flavor. A bold coffee with a dry bitterness and just a little bit of sweetness coming through in the background. The body is a nice medium body with some carbonic bite to it. A nice porter. WickerBrew (264), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 2, 2008 This was real good, probably my favorite from the basic line of Bell’s stuff. Dark and strong, but surprisingly drinkable. Thats where it gets its big scores, easy going down for a big roasty porter. A good chalky body too. If it were a few bucks cheaper we would have the big winner. BeerBunker (45), Burbank, Illinois, USA Aug 31, 2008 Pours black with minimal head. Heavy carbonation. Has a roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Taste is chocolate with lingering malts. Very light, making it extremely drinkable. 1_2many (231), Ohio, USA Aug 29, 2008 Bottle. Black with a small tan head. Roasty chocolate and coffee aroma. Sweet roasty malt flavor with a small aftertaste. Easy drinking and smooth. naivepegasus (144), USA Aug 27, 2008 Pours black with a few fingers of creamy, rapidly dissipating tan head. Sweet dark malts and chocolate in the odor. Soft, almost velvety mouthfeel is accompanied by a little coffee and toast with a nice chocolate aftertaste. Good porter with a nice light sweetness to it.
