Commercial Description:
An abundance of rye grains provide a spicy twist to otherwise traditional stout flavors. A unique approach to an entirely new style of stout.

Similar to Bell’s november stouts. Traditional dark roasted nose and flavor. However, this was not as bitter as some of the other Bells stouts. One of my favorite seasonal stouts of this brewer.

Stoutesque in a stout-like fashion with stoutish elements and stoutful presence carrying for a stoutment for mankind. Hell, I did enjoy this, but can say with all honesty that I was doing that thing with my head that dogs do when they seem confused, tilting it from side to side and furrowing my brow. Also can’t recal who sent this in trade - shadey? Okay, let me piss off everybody with a lame rating and bad ending .... (DID like it, that CAN be said)

On tap at Pizza/Birreria Paradisio. Pours a clear brown to black with ruby highlights and a thin beige head. Caramel, roast, light toffee. Spicy rye flavor comes through right away along with some chocolate, roast, and just a hint of coffee. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Finishes up with a nice spicy rye note and a long lingering roast and caramel.

No head, dark brown...definetly rye and grains in the aroma - very full of minerals, dry. The finish is highly smoked, but with a bitter, metallic and unpleasant finish.

Dark brown color with a small tan head. Roasted coffee aroma. Flavor of roasted coffee and miky malt. Smooth and very drinkable like most Bell’s beers.

Pours black, with a light brown head. Aromas are roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Flavors are roasted malt and rye, coffee, chocolate, and hops. Pretty good, but it seems to be missing just a little something. Thanks to MikeMac for this bottle.

Bottle from siciliano’s. Batch 9370. Opaque dark brown to black with creamy, medium beige head. Aroma is slightly sulphury upfront with rich roast and chocolate, dry spice. Flavor is rye spice, rich roast, cocoa, slight cold coffee, nuttiness. Medium to light, creamy body with medium carbonation. Real unique, I think this would be great BA beer if they decide to throw it in a barrel.

Beer pours dark brown with a tan colored head that is moderately retained. Aroma is coffee and cream with some rye. Flavor is likewise. Very nice coffee flavor with some rye flavor as well. Enjoyable.
