Too much tang for this guy.

Rich black color. Smells of roasted malt and a hint smoky. Surprisingly thin palate and low carbonation. Flavor is nothing special - some roasted hints but not memorable or complex. Just average overall bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Flavor was a little bitter with some rye in there. Mouthfeel was a little dry. Good but not really what i wanted." cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Heavy brown body, constant 1/2" dark tan head and good lacing. Peppery/spicy aroma chock full of coffee, chocolate fudge and roasted malts. There is a wonderful underlying fruitiness that comes forward after a bit. Full bodied, extremely creamy with a wonderful sweet finish and a lightly dry aftertaste. Nutty coffee with cream, mild black licorice, chocolate and hints of plum dominate the taste. Good spicy character in the back ground with a faint twang. Another top notch stout by Bells, seems like a drier and spicier version of the Kalamazoo. roder60 (1030), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma is sweet molases, roasted barley, brown sugared fruit. Flavor is pretty light for the abv, creamy smooth sweet caramel mocha. Overall, i liked. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA
