Commercial Description:
An abundance of rye grains provide a spicy twist to otherwise traditional stout flavors. A unique approach to an entirely new style of stout.

Deep, dark brown. Chewy-soft texture; light and fluffy, in a way. Notes of sweet cream, cereal, wheat-like grains, mild coffee, faint smoky wood and pinch of chocolate. Slight sourness in the finish. Dryish, mildly bitter finish. All right.

This was my least favorite of the November stouts. I’m not complaining, but usually each Bell’s stout has a big selling point. This one just fell short.

pours a very dark brown with a thin tan head. aroma is slightly coffee-like and malty. flavor has the whole sweet/sour thing going on...with the coffee sweetness and some yeasty sourness thing..somewhere in the middle of trumpeters and the oatmeal.

Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm. Black with creamy beige head. Burnt aroma of bread and prunes. Dryish with a surprising fruity touch. Medium bodied with spritzy mouthfeel, light notes of nutes and blackberries. Doesn’t have the roastiness usually associated with stouts. Lightly salty finish. Surprising in every aspect.

Tap @ Bennno’s. Black body, small tan head. Worty caramel/chocolate aroma. Thin flavor - dry, bitter baker’s chocolate with spicy rye and some light grass. Tart chocolatey finish. A nice beer but it doens’t draw you in - too thin and bitter for that.

A good stout from Bells. I expected a rye flavor but it tasted like their other stouts. Spend your money on the Expedition stout.

Dry, very much like the spiced stout minus the spices. Dry, less espresso flavor, flavor seems a bit thin. Can’t really say this is their best offering since the thin bitter flavor underneath grows the further into the glass you get.

Similar to Bell’s november stouts. Traditional dark roasted nose and flavor. However, this was not as bitter as some of the other Bells stouts. One of my favorite seasonal stouts of this brewer.
