GMUcrew7 (152), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 14, 2008 Pours thick black, with a very limited tan head. Nice chocolaty mocha aroma, but not too strong of an aroma. Flavor is great, excellent blend of milk chocolate and roasted coffee. Very smooth body, a little too much carbonation and a little too light, but an otherwise solid sweet stout.
BeerBaron617 (75), Novi, Michigan, USA Jul 17, 2008 Another knockout from Bells! 12oz bottle. Pours dark chocolate brown with a dark white head. The aroma is slightly sweet. The tastes is exactly what I expected it to be, double creamy with amazing malt back. It’s beers like this that are quickly making stout my new favorite style. KawaBomber (130), New Jersey, USA Jul 14, 2008 12oz Bottle: Pours virtually black w/ a small brown head. Aroma is of sweet malts & grain. Sweet malts fade into a nice roasted coffee flavor towards the end. Aftertaste is all roasted (yet sweet) malt/mocha flavors. Very smooth & creamy mouthfeel. Yummy! Pawola22 (31), Kansas City, Missouri, USA Jul 12, 2008 12 oz bottle from John’s Grocery.
Aroma: Creamy, chocolate, lots of roasted malt and coffee.
Appearance: Dark, thick, and creamy. Very small, dark, brown head. Pretty lacy. Not a lot of carbonation.
Flavor: Malty, spicy, chocolate, mocha, roasty. Sweet like chocolate milk.
Palate: Very smooth and sweet. Light and malty in the beginning and roasty lingering aftertaste. Not a lot of carbonation.
Overall: Very drinkable, very very good. Sweet and lingering. Very well hidden alcohol. Definitely sweeter and smoother than the Kalamazoo Stout. lightning9191 (46), Christiansburg, Virginia, USA Jul 10, 2008 This beer pours black with little head to speak of. The aromas are chocolate with some hints of coffee...almost a burnt syrup aroma. The flavor is very smooth with big hits of chocolate. There are some definite coffee and caramel flavors. The coffee flavor is the one that seems to linger the longest. The body is medium-heavy with medium carbonation. This is a good sweet stout! fatti_bobatti (215), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 7, 2008 bottle, market square liquor tallahassee. an amazing dark brown or black body with a thick creamy khaki head. aroma is fulll of chocolate, coffee roast, espresso and caramel. sweet flavor of espresso and chocolate. lasting finish of coffee.
