Jet black, admits no light. medium tan head, disappears quickly, leaves nice lacing. Aroma of cafe au lait with burnt edges. Taste begins with chocolate, then progresses to roasted coffee beans, then finally to burnt espresso. Very nice indeed. Laid down 6 bottles tonight, hopefully I can wait a year.

Poured from a 12 oz’er into a plastic Dixie cup. Not ideal, but these things happen. Nice tan head. Roasted malts dominate the aroma. Flavor is leather, raisins, dark and bitter chocolate. Nice bitter finish. Very smooth, heavy mouthfeel. A great one.

Aroma boozy coffee roasty. Lactose makes it sweet for sure, little sour bitter finish. Great smooth full body mouthfeel. Good middle and excellent finish the aroma and inital taste through it from above 4 for me. Would be a regular drinker for me if I could get it.

Bottle from DuffmanSW. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a beige ring of foam. Aroma is mild coffee, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and a touch of smoke. Flavor is creamy chocolate and roasty coffee. Palate is creamy with soft carbonation and a full, silky body.

Dark brown with medium head. Like a silky chocolate malt. Light sweet roast and mild bitterness. A little soy. Good round body, not too thin and still very drinkable.

Dark black pour with brown edges. light beige filmy head. Aroma is chalky chocolate and cream with a sweet biscuity malt character. Flavor is again chalky and chocolatey with some hints of rum soaked lady fingers and milky coffee. smooth and tastey.

Bottle, shared with 3 friends after a great Turkey dinner. Big chocolate aroma with alot of roasted scents on the nose. Great silky texture. I wish Bells had distribution here in So Cal, I have enjoyed everything I have tasted from them.

[12oz bottle] Dark thick and rich looking. Viscous with good carbonation which leaves a good bit of lacing on the glass. Strong roasted barley, a bit of smoke and bitter chocolate aroma. Some sweetness but well balanced and not overbearing and a bitter finish. Creamy and smooth but not as heavy on the palette as I would have thought. A decent beer but not overly complex.
