Pours orange / amber with a nice off-white head. The aroma has tropical fruits, smooth citrus, toasty malt and light green onions. Medium / full body with a touch of slickness and some sharp biting carbonation. The flavor started off with the aroma notes and a bit more of green hop funkiness and more green onion traits. The finish has some pine. This is drier than Hopslam, but there are some definite similarities to me.

Bottle thanks to ditmier. Pours out a burnt orange topped with a tall white head. Aroma is so hoppy I love it. Tons of citrus and pine notes along with sweet caramell. Taste is WOW hops delight. Grapefruit peel, pine, sweetness, apricot, all working together.

Huge thanks to Teshon for this taster. Ample white head on this hazy, well carbonated dark orange beer. Really solid hop aroma. Citrus & pine resin in the amazingly hoppy body. This is what I imagine hop extract would taste like.

bottle poured an orange amber in color with a one finger thick white head that fell to a pool of bubbles on the surface. aroma has sweet dry hops, citrus rind, grapefruit, light resins, and underlying caramel malt. really floral with that fresh hop juice thing. mouth feel is medium but it coats well with just the right carbonation. flavor picks up some resins, medium bitterness, nice floral citrus, and finishes with lingering hop bitterness. the alcohol heats up a bit as the glass goes on and the sweetness is a medium but well in control.

Bottle. Hazy medium orange body, thick puffy buff head with good lacing. Nose of intense, sweet sugared papaya, resinous and sticky, with some bitter pine and hints of alcohol. Rich, sweet body, with papaya and sticky tropical fruits, citrus and citrus rind, and a piny, astringent finish. The beer’s intensity is felt in its prickly carbonation, warming alcohol notes, and intense hops profile. Bell’s now has two top-notch Imperial IPAs in its repertoire.

12oz from smokepot23, glad to get to try this, thanks again Joey. I thought this turned out pretty good even as the bottle is from August. Overall a nice sweet drinkable DIPA.

The Dan Journal #296. Tasted 9/10/09. 12oz bottle. Batch #9306. Bottled 28 August. Fresh and delicious. Hazy with a bright golden hue. Bubbled white head. Earthy fruity aromas. Full bodied with big, fresh hops. Bitter, dry, piney and earthy. Big bold and bright with a touch mustiness. Lingering finish with a trace burn. Sticky and cloying finish. Flavors of grapefruit and slight berries, but overridden by the pine note. Good malt bill, but once again, overridden by the astringency. Tongue tingling and very solid! I want more!!

Gift 12oz. bottle from a fellow RBian. Poured to a large fest glass a clear, orangy amber with a frothy, off white head, and ribbons of clingy lacing. The aroma was a nice bright scent of mid-toned fruit and citrus, with a bit of resin and some malt sweetness. The flavor on the other hand was pronounced, resiny hop bitterness that dominated most of the sweetness, smooth malt, and warming alcohol that built up midway through. The body was better than medium and the strong bitterness remained well past the finish, minimized only by the follow up glass of water. An excellent DIPA for the hop conscious imbiber.

12 oz bottle thanks to Grant. Hazy golden/orange with a dense off white head. Big aroma of grapefruit, and sweet malt. The flavor is very bitter with some sweetness and a light alcohol taste. Medium body with average carbonation and a dry mouth feel. Thanks Grant for this great IIPA.
