Alcoholist (570), Peoria, Illinois, USA Oct 2, 2005 Apple juice colour with a diminishing head, Sweet fruity, pineapple, bananna, and well rounded with the characteristic coriander bite of a good witbier. Very wheaty, grassy, more like a summer brew than a winter one. A good hoppy spicy kick towards the end.
WakeandBake (94), Greenville, Michigan, USA Sep 9, 2008 Bottle.(Oct 07) Cloudy, straw-colored ale. Nose is orange peel, coriander, wheat and alcohol. Well-balanced flavor is fruity, slightly tart.with maybe a touch cloves. Very nice. timsilvia32 (249), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Aug 28, 2008 Foggy orange pour. A nice white head arises. Floral and fruity aromas. Aromas don’t deceive, some sweet malt, Christmas/Thanksgiving desert spices. Weak hop prescense. This would be one of Bell’s weakest offerings, not their forte. noncaloric (111), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 21, 2008 Updated: Aug 25, 2008Bottle, pilsner glass. Pours a slightly cloudy pale gold. The fluffy white head soon dissipates. Aroma of bananas and tangy citrus. Presents up front with grainy sweetness; The banana and citrus waft through the mouth, unfortunately tasting a bit perfumy. Wheat and cloves form the backbone of the flavor, and leave a warm sensation on the tongue. AndrewKScott (409), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 14, 2008 Bought this somewhere in Michigan. Obviously out of season, but I assume this is still ok. I suppose I’ll find out this winter when I get some fresh bottles this winter. Pours a nice golden color with a white head that’s gone before you know it. Aroma is light but deep, with citrus, wheat, and cloves. Great banana and citrus flavor, with a touch of spice and wheat backing. Slightly dry finish. I would say Bell’s is awesome, but you already knew that. jstraw (469), Oak Park, Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2008 Golden with decent, white head / Light, wheat & citrus nose / Light to medium body, crisp, with good finish / Flavors of banana, wheat, orange, and clove / Admittedly out of season, but still elegant and balanced.
