SturmWulf (63), USA Jul 23, 2007 Very nice wheat aroma with a hint of citrus, Poured a nice golden and cloudy appearance, Very nice head that was more fizzy looking than creamy, head quickly went down to a nice thin creamy cap, very little lacing, lightly sweet with a slightly fruity taste, touch of banana, slightly malty with very little bitterness, very pleasing in taste, body is medium, medium body that is slightly oily, very smooth, a nice light to medium carbonation, overall a very nice brew!
I would definitely buy again. Very good job by Bell’s. Was served in a Weizen.
hombrepalo (545), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 1, 2008 Bottle. Why winter? Poured a cloudy lighter golden/orange with a moderate layer of white head. Bright aroma of wheat, orange and lemon zest, and peppery spices. Flavor picked up wheat upfront, with citrus and spices following. Medium-bodied and smooth on the palate... felt very good. Lemon, orange, and wheat on the finish. Very enjoyable!
thejoeshow (167), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Nov 30, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours an almost cream color. Very white and orange color. There is a minimal white head that has moderate lacing. Aroma is rather nice, lemon zest, wheat, and a touch of grass. Flavor is citrus, lemon zest, and a bit of bready yeast flavor. It starts out full but trails off towards the back of my palate. It almost seems "unfinished" or "hollow". On a side note, odd choice for a winter seasonal...but whatever. bbbrew (143), Washington DC, USA Nov 30, 2008 12 oz bottle. brite golden yellow pour with no head. orange nose. i like the blend of styles. good wit. brew4fun (137), West Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2008 Cloudy orange with short, fluffy white head dissipating rather quickly. Aroma of wheat, yeast, spice(?) and light lemon - nice. Flavor of lemon, clove, wheat and yeast. Medium body, noticeable bitterness with clean finish. Very refreshing. NobleSquirrel (758), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle at Kuma’s. I was surprised as this turned out to be a pretty bland wit, most likely do to the neutral american yeast. Pours typical wit golden orangeish. Very subtle nose with a touch of spice. Body is pretty robust, though the flavors aren’t all there to make this a classic wit. Decent and drinkable but misses the mark.
