Draft: Golden colored pour with little to no head. Sweet, citrus, hoppy aroma. Malty, lemony citrus finish. This was ok.

On tap at BBC a hazy pale amber golden. There is an ample frothy head that holds well and laces well. The smell is rather faint and sweet but the smell of citrus hops shows through. The taste is rather balanced between malts and hops without taking away from the strenght of the hops that comes through. Typical pale malts are present and the lemon-citrus characteristic comes from the hops. This beer contains a good mouthfeel balanced nicely between carbonation and thickness. Overall i find this highly drinkable. Certainly one I would go back fo.r

(Draft: Belmont Brewing Company in Long Beach, CA) More balanced than their hops-dominated pale ale, this seasonal IPA is still balanced toward the hoppy, bitter, and citrusy end of the spectrum. Lots of grapefruit here, but unlike the pale ale, it’s fairly fruity as well from start to finish, plus mildly sweet and moderately malty. But the long-lasting finish is definitely grapefruity and bitter. The nose is quite fruity, and though obviously citrusy and slightly spicy, it’s nicely balanced. Well carbonated, medium bodied, and fairly clean and crisp, especially in the finish. The beer is a bright amber color, and very hazy, even moreso than their pale ale. The off-white head rises to a finger’s width after the pour, fading to a sheen within a few minutes, while leaving small bits of lace on the glass. Not a bad IPA, but it’s not reeling me in.

Not one of the regular line-up, seasonal and the best on display without doubt. Cloudy, amber hue, light carbonation. Mild hop, spice, pepper aroma. Tingling, fizzy palate, light to medium bodied. Nice fruity apricot malt flavor, finishes fruity too, before hop citrus catches up in the aftertaste. Very good IPA.
