Cask at the Peterborough beer fest 2009. Alround rating: Fairly sweaty, pale golden malt, grassy a bit herbal, some cat pee? Bit thin.

Cask handpump at the brewpub, Old Dalby, Leics/Rutland’ 23-01-09 Pours mid amber with a large white cushion of foam, in great nick it must be said. Some lemon rind in the mouth, its a nice citric bite. The bitterness lingers across the roof of the mouth and the tongue. There is a good bite to this, some thrusty hop. Its a tidy and tasty bitter. A mid amber malty best bitter. Low hop presence and a bit sweet, although something a little dryer does creep in towards the finish. Rather like an autumn beer (e.g. Adnams Fisherman) in style. Nothing wrong with it, but I found it rather boring and short of attack. Cask (gravity), Battersea Beer Festival
