Commercial Description:
This is a light wheat ale brewed with 50% malted wheat and a blend of pale, carastan, and Munich malts, lightly hopped with Perle and Mt. Hood hops. It has a pronounced wheat character, best described as a "soft" maltiness, and is usually rather fruity due to the high fermentation temperature. Hefeweizen is an excellent beer to recommend to people who are new to microbrews. It is a subtle way to introduce real beer flavor.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Has a wheat malty aroma with some hints of citrus. Sweetish wheat malty flavor with some hints of citrus. Has a sweetish wheat malty fruity finish.

Eh, really weak grainy malt - kind of sour wheat with a lot of lemon. Somewhat dry and moderate yeast.

Sampled at the Bend pub. Pours hazy gold with little head. Annoying lemon slice included. Pretty plain hefe. Tasted weak and bland to me.

On tap at the source in Bend, OR--Murky, cloudy, burnt golden-orange-maize hue with a tiny white-laced head. Served with a lemon so it was difficult to determine how much lemon smell was because of this addition or from beer itself. Lemony, citrus, wheaten esters. Crisp, chalky, and refreshing. Dry-sweet finish. Quite good.

1/1/08 At the BrewPub with Bikesandbeer after a day’s drive from Portland, Brewery 5 of the trip. Pours cloudy orange with a bright white head with lots of lacing, served with a lemon that we discarded. Nose is light wheat with lingering lemon. Taste is sweet light not bad not amazing.

Tap at Brewpub: Hazy gold, little or no head.Light malt nose. Light sweet wheat malt flavor, lightly hopped. Misnamed, as you can see it is an American Wheat

Draft at the Brewpub: Cloudy golden/orange color with a small white head and nice lacing. Nose is sweet with citrus, some wheat and malt as well. The taste is primarily the wheat tones, some citrus and caramel malt presence. Not bad, but not remarkable.
