This is the best double IPA ever made. I tasted this side-by-side with Pliny the Elder at GABF and was blown away by how much better this one hides the alcohol%, how much less overbearing the hops are in this. This is a double IPA for non-hopheads (despite the name). Pleasant citrus and herbal aroma blend into a nice medium bodied flavor of great hops. However, no huge lingering bitterness. No unpleasant overpowering aftertaste. If you can ship me bottles of this beer when it comes out in November, I will compensate you considerably. Angeloregon (1898), Portland, Oregon, USA Feb 8, 2007 Updated: Aug 30, 2008This beer is a quintessential IPA. Its big without being unbalanced and the color is as delectable as the nose and the taste. A perfect orange hue with a magnificent head that demands your pallet’s attention. I can’t say enough good things about this beer! goldtwins (3734), Nesconset, New York, USA Oct 30, 2007 GABF 2007: Poured an almost clear golden yellow color with a medium off-white head. Hop forward citrus aroma with some biscuity malt underneath. Big but not overdone. The flavor had a great mix of big citrus and piny hop on top of malt. Medium to full bodied and nice warming in the chest. This was one of the better IIPA and beers I had at the fest. jimbowood (721), Athens, Georgia, USA Oct 14, 2007 GABF 2007. A very good beer. Huge, piney hop presence w/ a alcohol bite. Very dry finish. harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Mar 21, 2006 Hazy unfiltered golden appearance, monster white rocky head that dissipates into some beautiful clingy lacing. Big funky hop aroma that can only be described as tantalizing. Hugely hoppy this is how I want my Imperials to taste. Still has a kicking malt backbone to tackle the impressive hop profile. Very well done.
