Sampled draught at Bend Brewing Company, Bend
Golden color, no head or lacing. Nose of light floral hops, light malt. Eh, fairly boring. Probably the same malt bill as the hefe but diff yeast.

1/1/08 At the BrewPub with Bikesandbeer after a day’s drive from Portland, Brewery 5 of the trip. Pours orange with a bright white head. Nose is sweet and light with a light hoppiness. Taste is sweet with a slight bitterness.

Golden-orange in color. Very crisp, light and lively on the palate. Sweet - but light - malt base. Aromatic and flowery hops were nice. Mild bitterness in the clean and dry finish. Not overwhelming with flavor, but easy to drink.

LIght and citrusy with a light malty aroma, with some herbal hop grassiness. Just a hint of diacetyl is present, butterscotch biscuity maltiness, a decent body, and is a litttle bigger for the style, clean and easy to drink.

(Draft: Bend Brewing Company in Bend, OR) Another easy drinker from Bend Brewing, the flavor is pretty light, but the sweet, grainy malts are well balanced by gentle, pleasant hops. The beer finishes with just a touch of bitterness. The sweet nose is made more interesting by a mild hop spiciness. Very light body, a bit watery, but with a slight crispness in the finish. Light golden in color, clear, with many slowly rising carbonation bubbles showing through nicely. Whitish head pours quite large, and retention and ringed lacing are excellent. It’s a bit less flavorful than I like in my golden ales, but the gentle bitterness makes this a decent offering.

Oh man.. had to be an APA. I was gonna say that this was the best golden ale I’ve had. Oh well. Not sure it’s an APA either as I got German hops, but whatever. German hops, caramel, bread. Orangish color with a relatively heavy body for a golden ale, but whatever. One of those borderline styling beers.
