| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Darker amber. Aroma is caramel, darker fruits, hint of darker malts and hops. Sorta reminded me an American style old ale, if there is such a thing. Definitely not a real English feel here. Decent to drink, but overall not that exciting. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Nose is malty and earthy, some sweetness as well. The taste is rich with maltiness, caramel, light bitters, and rye. Even a little smoky. Thought this was one of the pub’s better ales. A quite nice looking "pint".Slightly hazy, chesnut brown, nice sized light tan head.
Quite hoopy aroma to this, I think my nose is "bust" I cant get much more.
This tastes like a robust, toasty brown ale..some dark coffee flavours too.
Quite nice on the palte , perhaps a wee bit on the watery side.
A nice beer it goes down very easily. baobubba (449), Corvallis, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 1, 2004 Had this one from the tap and growler. Maroon/amber body with a fairly thick head. Malty flavor with lots of on the darkish side of caramel flavors. Maybe overdone cotton candy. Good stuff anyhow. Travels well too.
