While it is very flavorful, it’s more just a big amber ale, sweet, very fruity, caramely, malty and gently roasty, and moderately bitter. Sweet and caramely nose seems to match well with the flavor. Medium body, but sweet and malty enough for a long, substantial mouthfeel. The color is dark amber, and it’s topped by a small, light tan head that fades to a small rim and leaves a bit of patchy lacing. I feel mislead with the beer name, but once over the duping, this is actually a pretty nice beer. Reid (1092), Salem, Oregon, USA

A quite nice looking "pint".Slightly hazy, chesnut brown, nice sized light tan head.
Quite hoopy aroma to this, I think my nose is "bust" I cant get much more.
This tastes like a robust, toasty brown ale..some dark coffee flavours too.
Quite nice on the palte , perhaps a wee bit on the watery side.
A nice beer it goes down very easily. anders37 (4763), Malmö, Sweden

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Darker amber. Aroma is caramel, darker fruits, hint of darker malts and hops. Sorta reminded me an American style old ale, if there is such a thing. Definitely not a real English feel here. Decent to drink, but overall not that exciting.
