baobubba (430), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 1, 2004 Had this one from the tap and growler. Maroon/amber body with a fairly thick head. Malty flavor with lots of on the darkish side of caramel flavors. Maybe overdone cotton candy. Good stuff anyhow. Travels well too.
carboloader (301), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 13, 2008 Sampled at the Bend pub. Pours maroon. small white head. Malty but otherwise pretty bland to me. Definitely does not taste like a Belgian strong ale to me. More like a strong brown ale. Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 28, 2008 Sample at the source in Bend, OR--Poured a dark brown-amber body with a small creamy off-white head. Faint nutty, caramel, sweet toffee nose. Not very exciting, but not too bad.
