carboloader (269), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 13, 2008 On tap at the Bend pub. Oh yeah, Baby. Pours opaque with medium sized frothy tan head. Nice roasty, malty flavor with coffee notes. Creamy mouth feel. Piney hops kick in for a smooth bitter finish. Yum. I should drink more porters. WeeHeavySD (1539), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Feb 12, 2008 1/1/08 At the BrewPub with Bikesandbeer after a day’s drive from Portland, Brewery 5 of the trip. Black pour with an off white ring. Not much of a nose. Had this side by side with the vanilla porter. This one turns out to be a nice light porter. SuzyGreenberg (799), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 14, 2008 sampled @ brewpub - thin dark brown with slight tan head around the edges; thick aroma mix of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate; creamy texture with lots of chocolate and coffee coming out in the flavors; drinks very smooth and slightly dry; a very nice robust porter TheBeerLover (1008), DC Metro Area, USA Nov 11, 2007 Sampled a pint of this one on draught at the brewpub in Bend, OR. This beer pours to a deep brown to black color, with a thick, white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose is very nice on this beer, with good aromas of chocolate malts, coffee, light roast, and piney hops. The palate is soft, with good dark chocolate and coffee flavors, with light estery notes of currants, and light roast. This beer finishes with good dark chocolate and coffee flavors, then end roasty, with a piney hop bite that lingers on the tongue. Nice, easy drinking, social pint of porter. Good beer to relax with at the bar, and a nice beer to match with the pub grub on the menu.
