Glouglouburp (2113), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 22, 2008 In short: An extra-dry rustic “rough” bretty beer. Kick-ass although an acquired taste
How: Tap at brewpub, freshly put on tap, first (and hopefully not last) batch ever
The look: Cloudy dark-orange topped by a medium white head
In long: Nose of brett and orange peels. Body is full, fluffy and “rough”. The beer is very dry, very very dry. Taste is somewhat simple but extremely effective. Grainy crunchy cereals, some dry citrus skin, some dry orange skins, hyper-active carbonation with lots of big bubbles. Gets a bit more juicy as it warms up but overall this is a pleasantly “rough” extra dry rustic 4.4% bretty beer with the body of a big beer. There was still a tiny bit of residual sugar so I’m sure this would be even more kick-ass aged a few months. That’s the problem with brewpub beers, the only way to age a good brewpub beer is to kill the customers but that would just give yet another reason for people to call the cops on me.
puzzl (1901), New York, New York, USA Sep 15, 2008 Tap at Benelux. Great gold pour in a huge glass with a lovely, big and puffy head. Very horsy, dry hay aroma, some coriander and cardamom. Grassy flavor, hay, a bretty bite. Dirty and yeasty as hell. Full bodied and tough to drink, however nails the "saison with brett" style. Tasty. kmweaver (2273), Nicaragua Sep 13, 2008 Draft @ Benelux. Pours a very hazy, golden-tan color; significant, creamy off-white head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Really solid brett character in the aroma: lively citrus, light acidity, and toasty crackers; nicely expressed brettiness. Lively carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: effervescent, bretty, limey-citrus notes upfront; solid core expression of lightly acidity brett; toasty malts, crackers, and lightly acidic citrus. Lengthy finish: brett, toasty crackers, and light lime. Significant white head on cloudy grapefruit coloured body.A wild sour smell and a bit thin mouthfeel. MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 31, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Within a brettanomyces grove burgeons herbal hop bitterness, intelligent sweet cereals and artful fruit esters, a harmonious profile which makes this Wild Ale cuddly and very drinkable.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy blond.
-That wild yeast character is important throughout, but it never dominates the flavor profile; it is quite cooperative.
-I would have imagined a lighter body for a 4.4% brew fermented with brett; a crisper mouthfeel might have made this more alluring to me, defining the malts and the hops a tad more.
-Am I imagining the doughy yeast angle?
-The fruit esters are not distinct, but sure are present.
-The cereal sweetness builds a round mouthfeel.
