Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Aug 3, 2006 15oz. Pale hazy gold, generously topped by a large white head. Cilantro and curacao both bring a spicy tang that works nicely with the spicy yeastiness. Zesty nature, gently tart and moderately sweet. Faint bananas get dominated by the parallel spiciness that eventually hints at oregano and white pepper. A fun yeast though it could bring more sid fruitiness. Underlying malt is solid, well constructed biscuity pils and possibly carapils for roundness. Adequate noble hops bring a floral and perfumey finish. Softest alcohol tones. Somehow, the water felt harder in this one than most of his beers I felt. It’s a pleasant and really drinkable ale in which the phenolic nature (at small levels) boosts up the spiciness. Light bodied and highly carbonated, necessarily, some adjunct sugars were used in there and it certainly works in lightening the palate/enhancing drinkability, but somehow, I felt like beefier malts or more pronounced esters would have multiplied the concerned dimensions of this beverage. MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 19, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Firm cereals develop a silky mouthfeel before cracking herbal, wooden hops soar, concluding another balanced, clean, and very enjoyable Benelux Belgian-style Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the hazy blonde.
-The cereals become biscuity at times.
-The wooden hop bitterness grows on you.
-The small, prickly bubbles and rather round mouthfeel show the beer’s North American heritage.
-Spicy yeastiness expresses itself mostly in the nose.
On tap at the brewpub. tiggmtl (4178), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 28, 2006 Hops are pungent and spicy in the aroma along with some tart fruit character. Clear golden coloured body is topped by a large white head that lasts throughout and laces the sides of the glass. Biscuity and toasty malt flavours show nicely beneath the dominant spicy, floral, perfumey hops with decent bitterness. Light medium body is quite dry and well-attenuated with strong carbonation that engages the tongue. Sampled on tap at the brewpub. Lubiere (3410), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 18, 2006 Golden ale with a thick creamy white head. Pleasant aroma of perfumey malt, with light orange and fruity esters, and some light fragrant hopsé In mouth, a crisp sweetish malt, crisp german hops, some caramel notes. Reminiscent of fresh De Koninck. On tap, June 17, 2006. beerbuzzmontreal (2769), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 29, 2006 Updated: May 12, 2008Cloudy golden pour with a thin white head. Nice aroma of bread, honey and yeast. Good flavor of honey, bread, yeast and hops with lingering dryness. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation.
