Nose is malt and citrus, opaque orange, tiny white head. Taste is a mild orange/malt combo, light bodied, strong throat burn, seems almost like a biere de garde to me? Very tasty.
notalush (2036), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Aug 24, 2008 The batch served at the brewpub on 8/21/08 stated 7% abv - perhaps a slight recipe change? - anyway, this was another great beer from them - hazy golden pour, with a soapy, thick head - lovely aroma of lavender-steeped honey, wildflowers, a bit of spices - the flavor starts honey sweet, but on the whole it is not as sweet as the aroma suggests - a lot of herbal character and subtle peppery spice cut off the sweetness - finishes refreshing, and a bit hoppy and crisp - nice. MartinT (4345), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 19, 2008 My Bottom Line:
Firm cereals develop a silky mouthfeel before cracking herbal, wooden hops soar, concluding another balanced, clean, and very enjoyable Benelux Belgian-style Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the hazy blonde.
-The cereals become biscuity at times.
-The wooden hop bitterness grows on you.
-The small, prickly bubbles and rather round mouthfeel show the beer’s North American heritage.
-Spicy yeastiness expresses itself mostly in the nose.
