Aroma is over the top piney hops, lots of good malt too, deep amber, tiny toffee head. Taste has full on malt, with a pleasant hops kick. Full bodied, alcohol seems strong for the abv? Quite good. WeeHeavySD (1711), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Oct 24, 2007 Draft @ The Brewpub shared with Glouglouburp. Pours amber/orange with a creamy tan head. The nose is hoppy, light and fragrant. Tastes smooth hoppy and bitter, light drinkable with a nice rye flavor. mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 7, 2006 Draught. Brown-amber body with a small white creamy head. The aroma is rather nice - yeasty fruit, apple, bread, orange hops, and some lemon. Very bready (rye) flavour with bitter hops that are somewhat unflavourful and just plainly bitter. Still quite good though. asheft (819), Marburg, Germany Oct 3, 2006 [on tap at brewpub]
A bit weak in the nose but with nice Worther’s original caramel/toffee but not diacetyl. Also some fruitiness. Crystal clear beer of copper below a nice, lacy white cover. Excellent sweet caramel flavour in good balance with bitterness. Despite the fruit in the aroma, the beer tasted clean and malty. I don’t usually like the bitterness imparted by rye in beer, but this time it was subdued by the powerful flavour. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a tad astringent.
