Grainy, malty, slightly fuselly aroma. Light malty flavour with hints of acetaldehyde. Slightly full body for style. JorisPPattyn (5171), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 28, 2009 Small white head over corn-golden beer, clear. Very neutral nose, like still water, muddy. Grain taste, neutral to light sweet. "Crisp" is the word, for better or for worse. Light bitterish aftertaste, very light body. Dull ale. Maybe ’t wasn’t such a bright idea trying it, whilst watching a TV series where they were trying Saison Dupont, Saison de Pipaix and other gems... Thanks, Stef C! jerc (3911), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 28, 2006 Bottle via BeerMountie. Golden yellow bopdy with a small white head. Sweet grainy aroma, slight notes of fusel alcohol? Sweet flavour is grainy with very slight fruit notes. Labatt 50 like, this is probably what many would dub a ’Canadian Ale’. Average palate. Quaffable but a bit dull. GregClow (2496), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 7, 2006 <!-- i -->Bottle - courtesy of jerc.<!-- /i --> Pale golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of wet grain, grass, and a hint of fusel alcohol. Flavour is quite full for a macro, but not especially great - roasted grain and popcorn notes, along with a strange lemony/metallic tang. I’ll give it some credit for being unique for a Molson beer - I just didn’t enjoy it very much. MrManning (1648), London, Ontario, Canada
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 1, 2006 Courtesy of Beermountie- Pale straw pour, capped by a fizzy white head. Grainy corn aromas, matched up with soft watery caramel, and cereal aromas. Sweet metallic corn flavours with a sour tin-ish flavour. Off caramel sweet finish, with an unfortunate carbonation level. Strange. Thanks Tony! OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 28, 2006 341 ml bottle shared by jerc. Pale golden colour with a fizzy, diminishing white head. Grainy, light corn, and faint fuselly aroma. Grainy flavour dominates, lightly toasty with a moderate bitter finish. Light bodied, fizzy, but not unsubstantial. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Straight up the best lager out of the marintime provinces. Standard solid gold beer with tons of little bubbles, very smooth, creamy white crown and very impressive lacing. Good retention too. No lack of aroma here - quite sweet with over ripe nectarines or peaches, some pee - don’t matter though ’cause this is a solid brew. My description for taste doesn’t entirely reflect how much I enjoyed this beer - notable background bitterness throughout, cardboard malt and a solid wheat taste. More tongue drying bitterness has made this waaaaay more bitter than I thought it would be. Some sourness and alcohol as well - contributes to the nice stomach heat I got. I like! Mouthfeel is pretty plain and a bit harsh but I enjoyed the dry, dry bitter finish that left me parched. Excellent unassuming brew that really surprised me. Is it 3.7? As far as Canadian lagers go, it has to be. Don’t confuse this for being better than a better than average Belgian ale or something like that - for me it just excels in its class. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Dark golden yellow, no head was really produced during the pour, just some small patches bubbles linger around, wow I’ve never seen a beer that resembled urine so much mmmmmmm…… looks tasty. Malty and sweet, smells just like every other low-grade beer. The taste is all darker tasting malts and corn maybe just maybe I can detect a faint hint of hops buts its hard just like sniffing a fart in the wind. I wont lie this beer isn’t good but you could probably drink a ton of them and not get sick of it."
