MesandSim (4623), Highgate, Greater London, England Nov 27, 2008 A Mes rate: cask at the Market Porter. Clean gold, good white head and in very good condition. Slight egg on the nose but it’s just about held in check by some decent citric hoppage. I’d love to say more but the flavour is almost identical other than a lick of earthy malt and a developing bitterness in the finish. Straight forward and a little unimaginative. fonefan (5547), Ulfborg, Denmark Oct 1, 2008 Cask (handpump) @ The Briar Rose, Birmingham, England B2.
Clear medium yellow color with a average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, grapefruit, fruity, light yeasty, toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (300708) thebeertourist (2005), Oslo, Norway Oct 16, 2007 On tap at The Rake, London. Amber with almost no head. Toffee and citrus aroma. Citrus hop flavours, good bitterness. dry mouthfeel. Decent. maeib (4106), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Sep 15, 2007 Cask conditioned - handpump - Old Joint Stock, Birminghm. A straw blonde coloured beer with a loose white head. The aroma is thin with a little lemon notes. The taste is bitter and has notes of straw. It’s dry and quite decent really. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Mar 12, 2005 Hand pulled at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. I believe this to be an attempt at a cask-conditioned Lager - it has a lingering, but not heavy malt flavour. Dry approaching salty, but remains light and soft. Not a brilliant flavour or body.
