DruncanVeasey (1815), No. 46, Leicestershire, Belgium Oct 9, 2008 Cask, The Tap and Spile, Wolverhampton. Dark gold slicked with white. Tufts of lace. Punches dryly with citrussy hop IBUs, unfleshy grapefruit, grainy malt, slightly dank apple yeastiness. Can’t match the Kinver, but still a robustly hopped drop with a splash of traditional yeasty Englishness about it. RichardGretton (2748), Leicestershire, England Mar 9, 2008 Cask@Loughborough Beer Festival 2008. Golden beer with a dry aroma and a dry and toffee flavour. Overall a nice lightly dry beer with a very bitter finish, also with toffee notes. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 27, 2007 Cask at the Rake, Borough, London. Golden in colour. This was kinda dull, some earthy citric hop notes, some lightly sweet grainy pale malt notes. harrisoni (5474), Ashford, Kent, England Feb 5, 2007 Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2007. Gold colour with lasting bubbly white head. Very citrusy hop aroma. Bit yeasty too. Good solid golden ale with good hoppy dryness on the finish. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Mar 17, 2006 Hand pulled at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Nice crispy Golden. Fresh-ish hops through the mouth, with a little lemon. A bit papery on the finish, which does diminish things a bit. But let’s face it, I got drunk on this, so it can’t be a bad sesh effort.
