downender (2528), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Aug 28, 2007 From bottle in a cafe in Talmont-sur-Gironde, France 23/8/07. Amber coloured with a decent off-white head. Sweet malt aroma with a whiff of spirits. Fruity flavour with a warming alcohol finish. Ok. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 20, 2006 Bottle. Golden colour with a big tan head. Sweet malty, spicy, light cognac aroma and taste. Medium body with a sweet finish. tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 18, 2006 (Embrasse-Moi): Grainy, sweet, doughy aroma. Clear copper coloured body is topped by a low but lasting cream coloured head that leaves scant lace. Doughy flavour is mildly boozy with a grainy character and some grape and raisin fruitiness. Surprisingly strong bitterness appears in the finish and seems to overshadow the rest of the flavour. Medium body with soft carbonation to match. Sampled at Mondial 2006. joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 17, 2006 Bottle.
Clear golden coloured with a white head.
Aroma of malts, caramel, roasted malts and spices.
Flavour of malts, caramel and spices.
Light hoppy finish. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 16, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear amber with a small, off-white head leaving a discreet lacework. Exotic, somewhat perfumy aroma. Medium-bodied with rather sophisticated and perfumy notes. Some alcohol in the finish. Not unpleasant as such, but I’m not sure I really need Cognac in my beer. 150906 GonZoBeeR (2155), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Jul 12, 2006 Aroma:light caramel...
Appearance:Clear amber,light head...
Flavor:light malt-bread flavor, light cooked vegetable... Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 27, 2006 Clear amber, light coloured, 1cm white head slowly diminishes. Strong honeyed sweetness make the nose rather candyish and with this cognac character that doesn’t really blend with beer for the best. Weridly herbal, sandy. Very light bodied, adequate carbonation. Dull mouthfeel. A poor experiment. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jun 25, 2006 Dark amber coloured with no head. A fruity aroma, with non-descript malt. A rather boring ale with biscuitty malt and light scotch notes. Overall, not very interesting. Mondiale 2006.
