Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear deep amber with a huge and lively off-white head leaving some lacework. Sweet aroma of malt, overripe fruit and some yeast. Medium body, fruity, rather tart with lots of Belgian yeast. Dry finish, but not really bitter. 041009

(Bottled, BBE 2010 if I read correctly, also from De Bierloods) Clear golden with a medium, bubbly head. Aroma of sweetish, caramel-honey-grainy malt, and a touch of acidity. Flavor is mildly acidic with hints of cardboard, and caramely maltiness. Almost medium-bodied, very foamy-carbonated palate (seems typical to this brewery). Gets a little bit better towards the end, but still this feels like it’s not at its best anymore. The bottle had gathered a respectable amount of dust on it, so this had probably stood on the shelves for a year or so. Cellaring doesn’t seem the way to go with this.

Rated though only the brewery reps will keep calling this original against all common sense. Fine medium white head, fed by good carbonation to clear metallic orange beer; end of bottle yeast-laden. Dry malts, faint hops aroma as well, and faint alcohol. Dry, but at the same time sweet, very much alcohol determined flavours, with the of course untraceable white candi sugar. Almonds in the finish. Despite not really full attenuation and obvious alcohol, qutie reasonable strong amber. Finally, not too stereotypical.
