Dark ruby - copper brown, good creamy tanned head. Hoppy, yeasty nose, like in some Nøgne Ø beers, maybe using same yeast? Well-balanced, medium-bodied, good malt profile with late bitterness - all nicely packed. Hats off to Berentsens. Great beer. obisbeer (554), Madrid, Spain Jan 5, 2006 Great beer with a nose of pure cascade and a rich carmel mouthfeel. Creamy start ends with piney hop bitterness. Well made ruby brown colored ale. larsga (2448), Oslo, Norway Dec 2, 2005 Big, creamy yet big-bubbled tan head; clear, dark red body. Aroma mostly citrusy hops and clean, firm malts. Taste is bitter and firm, with a roasty taste that has smoky notes in it. Some dried fruit. Quite bitter throughout, in fact, almost dry. Very harmonic. Aftertaste is mostly fading, but roasty/smoky flavour lingers. Very nice. Finn (1109), Tromsø, Norway Feb 15, 2006 Bottle 0,5l. Clear, dark red-brown colour. Large, lasting head. Filigrees on the glass. Very pretty. Malty aroma with some caramel. Turns into a good, bitter aftertaste. One of the positive surprises on the Norwegian beer scene in 2005. thewolf (4152), Kolding, Denmark Mar 6, 2008 Bottle. [thank you, Yngwie]
Pours a wonderful, clear, deep amber with a medium, creamy off white head. Good duration. Aroma is caramel, lightly roasted and good pine hoppiness. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is soft, very malty at first, lots of caramel, a touch of chocolate and a very roasted finish. On top of that, there is lots of dryish hops, mostly pine. Super drinkable.
